Hurricanes Leaving for the NFL

It's been a busy month for the Miami Hurricanes....Busy as in Signing Contracts, with the Rosenhaus Sports Representation agency.
Man, Drew is striking like a virus, already this month Jacory Harris, (Senior, graduated) Tommy Streeter (Junior) Brandon Washington (Junior) Marcus Forston (Junior), Lamar Miller (junior) Olivier Vernon (Junior) and Sean Spence (Graduated) all have signed with Super Agent Drew Rosenhaus.....but man Drew you're leaving the cupboards bare down in Coral Gables.....

I get a call nearly every day, and hear...Man...guess who just signed with Drew....
Don't hurt us anymore Drew! leave us a lil something to compete with Virginia Tech next year....Please!

They should have told him....

Al Golden's star seemed to be rising very high after turning around an average...if not below average Temple program into a solid winner.
On Dec. 13, 2010, Golden was officially hired as the head coach of the Miami Hurricanes, a program far from the dynasty of Howard Schnellenberger, Jimmy Johnson and Dennis Erickson(problem child, problem coach) during the 1980s and early 1990s.
And before he can coach a game at the U, his star could go down with a sinking ship Yahoo! Sports dropped an atomic bomb-esque revelation of major scandal proportions surrounding booster and convicted felon Nevin Shapiro.
For a guy who had been a rising star, this was the worst possible type of scare he could get.
As many as a dozen current players and 60 former Hurricanes and seven different coaches, most of whom are no longer at Miami, were implicated in the Yahoo story.
That means that Golden will have to take time away from teaching his players his new system and instead play damage control.
Among the players Shapiro told Yahoo! that took illegal benefits include DT Marcus Forston, QB Jacory Harris, S Ray-Ray Armstrong and LB Sean Spence.
That could likely force Golden to bench those players until their names are cleared, if they get cleared, by the NCAA. (bad news for Jacory, who needs this year, a strong year to get an invite to the NFL)
It creates a super seriou problem for Golden because those are without a doubt some of his most talented players on the roster.
And that doesn't even start to scratch the surface of the implications that could come from this scandal., excuse me..."alleged" scandal
The infamous death penalty has been thrown around on message boards and Twitter in the past few hours, as this is arguably up there, if true with the Fab Five and the SMU slush fund scandals, as some the biggest scandals in recent NCAA history.
But the death penalty seems highly unlikely at the moment because the Hurricanes are currently not on probation, which is the primary basis in the NCAA rulebook and the real technical term in the rulebook, the repeat violator rule.
According to the letter of the rule, those guilty of being repeat violators are eligible for the death penalty, but only in the case of the most egregious violators such as SMU. The U are secondary violators.....
But make no mistake, Shapiro's testimony could put Miami in a position where they would get everything but the death penalty.
The testimony describes, in detail, around a thousand violations involving players and coaches, in addition to plenty cases of potential lack of institutional control, the four deadliest words in any NCAA investigation.
Getting back to Golden, it would be a shame for such a gifted up-and-comer to be stuck in this kind of situation.
Unfortunately, that is where the chips fell for Golden.
Like Lane Kiffin at USC, he is left to pick up the pieces of what look to be a program whose image is more shattered than ever in its history.
Perception is as important at times as the reality.
And it's a shame that a good coaching career like Golden's could soon go up in smoke.
Unfortunately, fate isn't always the perfect dream.
Al Golden's fate could forever be tied down to Nevin Shapiro, a man he probably never met, but a man who may have done more damage to his coaching career than any one game ever could.
And therein lies the biggest shame of the Miami scandal, as it could have claimed the career of a rising star that never saw it coming.

Ballers Still Practicing

Less than 24 hours after an 11-month investigation by Yahoo! unfurled a tsunami of allegations of improper benefits made by former booster Nevin Shapiro to players and former coaches at the University of Miami, Al Golden and his team returned to the practice Wednesday morning.
And the 12 current players who were implicated by Shapiro in the Yahoo! story were out there in uniform, too – albeit under a much more subdued setting.
Safeties Ray-Ray Armstrong and Vaughn Telemaque; linebacker Sean Spence; quarterback Jacory Harris; receivers Travis Benjamin and Aldarius Johnson; tight end Dyron Dye; defensive tackle Marcus Forston; defensive ends Adewale Ojomo, Marcus Robinson and Olivier Vernon; and cornerback JoJo Nicolas were all involved in practice Wednesday. The question now – as the team tries to move forward under a cloud of an NCAA investigation – is for how long.
“Right now, the only facts I’m going by are what we received from the NCAA and the university from a compliance standpoint. Until we hear an infraction or that we did break a rule, everybody is practicing,” said Golden, who also told reporters he has yet to read the Yahoo! article. “If it is determined that somebody broke rules, then certainly it will first be dealt with from a university standpoint, from an eligibility standpoint.”
Golden, the only person at UM to speak to the media since news of an NCAA investigation in Coral Gables broke Sunday night, said though the last 24 hours have been difficult he’s still focused on getting his team ready for its Sept. 5 opener at Maryland. By then, he hopes, the NCAA will have determined or let him and his staff know who might have to sit out.
“If there are guys that are going to have to sit out games, then we’ll adjust our practice accordingly,” Golden said.
“Whatever the number that is being interviewed right now or being named, that makes up less than 10 percent of our team. It’s really important to understand we have a lot of guys in that locker room that do things the right way and come from great families and have made good decisions and want to improve today and want to get better. We have to manage this team – not just the guys that if they did make a mistake [will be out].
Golden said his message to his team has been not to judge any of the 12 players potentially involved in the Shapiro allegations.
“I would hope they would learn from them,” Golden said. “We’re in an educational setting. It’s no different than if a student makes a mistake on campus. We don’t toss them out. We don’t turn our back on them. We try to educate them. And they’re all at an age right now if they were exposed to Mr. Shapiro, clearly we have to make sure we prevent that going forward.”
Golden, who already has one of the nation’s top recruiting classes in place with 24 commitments, said assistants began making calls to recruits Tuesday night. The message: Sit tight.
“I think their [high school] coaches obviously wanted to wage what the heck was going on. So our coaches got in contact with their coaches and ultimately with the recruits,” Golden sad. “Until I know what the facts are and I know what’s going on, it’s important we don’t rush to judgment and start saying things I’m not privy to. With us, we’re trying to move forward quickly.”
Golden, who took over for Randy Shannon in December, said Tuesday he had no knowledge that any investigation by the NCAA might be coming down the shoot. Asked Wednesday if he felt the university had the responsibility to inform him of it when they hired him, Golden said: “Only if they knew. If they knew this was percolating then I believe they did have a responsibility to tell me. I believe they had the responsibility to tell [athletic director] Shawn [Eichorst].”
Asked if he felt broadsided by what UM is facing, Golden said: “No. We’ll get through this.”

All about the Swagger

So, let’s start with the good news….According to Coach Al Golden, the Quarterback competition is neck and neck, (I thought Jacory would have had the edge as a senior, he appears to be a bit more polished, but Morris, has the pedigree and he’s keeping Jacory on his toes) Now……the rest

Okay, it's not looking good....But let's be real we're only speaking about ALLEGATIONS...this cat Nevin Shapiro is throwing dirt, hella dirt, major dirt, I mean he's laid it out on over 70 student-athletes, I repeat, STUDENTS. 12 of the guys "alleged" to have received improper benefits from a booster, are current players, but....Coach Al Golden is allowing them to practice until the NCAA says or does otherwise. In fact, they're practicing right now. This guy Nevin, currently incarcerated for all types of financial frauds, pled guilty to running a 930 million ponzi scheme, but what’s with a older guy hanging out with 19 and 20 year olds, throwing them cash, providing access to top shelf restaurants and clubs, taking these guys out on his yacht?&** WTF? this ass-clown is talking about writing a tell all book, why? from Atlanta USP? come on man, the U is in danger of losing, and in the short tem, recruits, then scholarships, and maybe even the football program altogether....he (Nevin) claims he spent millions on the players, but why tell it....what about the University President Shalala...receiving that fat check from this clown.....
Or Basketball Coach Haith (now at Missouri) knowing what transpired….He’s dishing the dirt, and there are quite a few who may be affected, from the University President, to the future first rounder’s, Sean Spence, Ray Ray Armstrong, and a host of others….it doesn’t look good folks, and Coach Golden ran into a buzz saw Monday, with NCAA investigators on campus, and Golden accepting this job a few months ago after randy was fired, and No one whispered in his ear that …there might be a slight and I repeat, SLIGHT problem.
Al, keep the faith and let’s see what we pull out of the hat against Maryland, in just a few short weeks….
And by the way, who’s going to be the starting quarterback?....

Proof of the NFL drug testing policies failures....

Rex Grossman, the soon to be named starter at Quarterback for the Washington Redskins, yesterday proclaimed, rather loudly that the Redskins will win the NFC East. This proves that the NFL's drug testing policy is not relavenat or not in force. He cant believe that statement, not with the Vaunted Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and The Football Giants of New York on the schedule twice each!
this guy should really lay off the narcotics. But maybe he had a tooth pulled recetnly and is still suffering a few effects of the painkillers.
Hey...Do coaches get tested as well? because Mike Shannahan appears to be staking his reputation on Grossman and "Journeyman" John Beck. Again, with the Schedule that the Skins have, these two moves are questionable-at best!

“We’re fine being the sleepers right now,” Grossman said, before doing his best to wake everyone up to the Redskins.  Or to provide comic relief to the rest of the league.
“We’re just waiting in the wings ready to take over the NFC East.  Nobody’s talking about us, it’s right where we wanna be.  You look at us from top to bottom out here, there’s a bunch of great players.   And we don’t need people saying we’re the best right now.  But when it’s all said and done, I really feel like this team’s gonna win the NFC East.”
It would be foolish to write off the Redskins or any other team right now.  But when the guy who’s at the top of the depth chart at the most important position on the field was a free agent for a full week and got zero sniffs, it’s hard to have much confidence in this team’s ability to leapfrog the Giants and the Cowboys and the Eagles.
Most NFL fans, including plenty of Redskins fans, would respond to that statement with this question:  In what year?

New Sherrif In Town....ROB RYAN

I'm Really loving what I'm hearing, and very soon we all shall be seeing from the Dallas Cowboys new Defensive Coordinator. He's bringing the swagger and I know from his history, he will have that defense flying around.
now he may offend some by dropping the "F" Bombs, the total opposite of Coach Jason Garret, laid back and button downed, but if he gets that D running and moving, and I'm sure he will, its all good. Hes gonna bring some looks to the defense that the NFC East ain't ready for.

If the Cowboys are to bounce back from a sub-par 2010 season that included Wade Phillips getting fired after eight games and Garrett moving from offensive coordinator to head coach, they will have to show marked improvement on defense.
That's why Ryan is such an important hire. He is Rex Ryan's twin brother. He's also Buddy Ryan's son. Like those two, Rob has that aggressive approach and doesn't care at all what people think about him.
Like those two, Rob is also considered a defensive wizard. This could be the spot that vaults him to his head-coaching job. Rex Ryan has become a media darling in leading the Jets to two AFC Championship Games in his first two seasons. He is fast with a quip and brings a refreshing change to a profession that can be staler than two-week-old bread.
Amazingly, Rob might be even edgier than Rex. When Rex was trying to get a top job, he lost weight and cut his hair. Rob isn't doing that.
"-------" he said. "If a haircut keeps me from becoming a head coach, I don't want to coach for that ------- team anyway."
No imagination needed to fill in the words. But you get the point. He doesn't care. All he wants to do is coach football. How he looks doesn't matter.
Yesterday he called out the Eagles and their new pretend Dream Team, we'll see soon, but I like our chances better than theirs.

"He's a big guy I need to listen to and see what he's talking about," Ware said. "I tell him, he has all that wisdom with that hair. He's the big Silverback."
Ryan will change the way the Cowboys play defense. They will be much more exotic with their fronts. You could see it in the work I watched over two days.
They will sometimes have one lineman down and six or seven other guys in the box. They will come from all angles, making it tough for a quarterback to call out protections, making it tough for the line to pick rushers up. Others will show rush but drop out.
I liken it to a stepped-on ant pile. They scatter quickly in all directions at the snap.
The player who should benefit most from this change is Ware. Under Phillips, he lined up on the right side all the time. It was easy to find him, which meant it was easy to double him, easy to slide protection his way.
Now he will line up on the right, the left, down, as a nose, as a linebacker standing up -- anyway you can imagine.
"He gets 20 sacks a year, but he gets doubled every play," Ryan said "If we can set some one-on-ones for him, it would be nice. We don't think he'll ever come complete free, but if he gets a one-on-one it's like coming free for him."
Ware has had 20 sacks just once in his career, that coming in 2008. But he has had at least 11 in each of the past five seasons, including 15½ last season to lead the NFL. I consider him the best pass rusher in the league.
Now that he is being moved around, he should be even better.
"It's a totally different philosophy," Ware said. "We have a coach who comes with tenacity and also has a system that utilizes the players and has multiplicity to it. You have guys dropping, rushing. You might have three responsibilities on one play. Sometimes I will be acting line I am rushing, but I won't. But I will still be coming a lot. You have to account for me. Only you won't know where I am coming from or what I am doing. It used to be I'd be on the right side, and you knew where I was."
Ware sniffed the single-season sack record with his 20. But this could be the year he takes it down. Michael Strahan had 22½ in 2001.
"I need it," Ware said.
Will you get it? "I hope so," he said. "I have a chance."
The Cowboys will need better play in the back end if they are to truly turn things around on defense. That means corners Mike Jenkins and Terrence Newman have to play better. There is still a lot of uncertainty at safety, but they could add a player there in the next few days.
With Ryan, the rush might be able to cover up some of those problems.
"I used to say I was the most famous Ryan after my dad, but Rex has passed me," Rob said. "Ideally, I'd love to have my chance to do that. Right now, I want to be the best defensive coordinator in football. I want to prove it this year. That's why I am here."
If he can turn things around in Dallas, that time should come. Ryan, like his brother, is a good football coach -- even if he looks like he just walked in from a ride with a bunch of bikers.

now Yesterday....August First, 2011, Vince Young, came out and called the Eagles the "Dream Team"...Rob (and myself included) didn't appreciate that remark.

Speaking to reporters at Cowboys camp, Ryan said that he was happy with the Cowboys’ relative lack of big-name free-agent signings because he thinks the players the Cowboys already have are good enough. And then he said he’s looking forward to playing a certain other team that has received more attention in free agency.
“These are proven players, and that’s what we need,” Ryan said. “I don’t know if we win the all-hype team, I think that might have gone to somebody else, but we’re going to beat their ass when we play them.”
Ryan didn’t mention the Eagles by name, but I think it’s safe to say that’s who he was referencing. And with that, Rob Ryan has given us a brash statement that even his brother Rex will find it tough to top.

Cowboys, DIDN"T cut Marcus Spears...intersting

Marcus Spears of the Cowboys just re-signed for $19.2million over five years. I personally thought he would be released, his production was down last year and he didn't make the noise I thought he would....
from LSU he comes from big time ball, but an injury plagued year leaves a lot to be desired.
Show me something Marcus...this is NFC EAST BALL!

Crowder Cut

Jeff Ireland and Tony Sporano saved a few bucks this afternoon....they just cut Channing Crowder....He's always good for some amusing quotes and usually pretty candid. Big talker but imho he was an average linebacker.
he'll land somewhere over the weekend.
he's probably most famous for his lively and entertaining quotes, such as...

"I couldn’t find London on a map if they didn’t have the names of the countries," Crowder said. "I swear to God. I don’t know what nothing is. I know Italy looks like a boot. I learned that." That's good to know. "I know (Washington Redskins linebacker) London Fletcher. We did a football camp together. So I know him. That’s the closest thing I know to London. He’s black, so I’m sure he’s not from London. I’m sure that’s a coincidental name."
Now his most recent comments:
A guy just spit in my face! I don't give a damn about Karlos pulling somebody's face mask. Like [the refs] didn't see [Dolphins quarterback] Chad Henne get hit twice when he slid. Yeah, a little Stevie Wonder and Anne Frank."
Asked what the Anne Frank reference meant, Crowder said "Who was that? Is that the blind girl? Helen Keller ... I don't know who the f--- Anne Frank is. I'm mad right now. F--- it. I'm not as swift as I usually am"
Brother Crowder...Miami will miss u!

Nick Saban...does he have a sense of humor or is he just...strange?

Love him or hate him, Nick Saban is a special kind of guy.
And let’s be real. Ladies just can’t resist his charming, full-of-life personality. Haven’t you ever seen “The Blind Side”?
During Alabama’s 2011 youth football camp, Saban showcased some of that award-winning charm in a 16-minute go-get-’em motivational speech (if you could call it that) to a group of campers, aged 8-14, and their parents.
In it, Saban discusses the importance of paying attention, the unimportance of XBOX and the relentlessness of Freddy Krueger. It’s pretty entertaining.
Because, well, it’s Nick Saban. Enjoy.

The Saga Continues

Butch Davis the head coach at Chapel Hill was released yesterday.
Not surprising, but very surprising.....let me explain, there has been quite a bit going on up in Chapel Hill, most recently nine of his players were suspended last year for a scandal that was pretty big by College Ball Standards, inappropriate contact with agents, academic issues with tutors, all kind of things, and the worst part of it, John Blake, now here is a real rascal, Butch should have known who Blake was, he was recruiting coordinator or something and had some defensive coord. title, but his real job was a recruiter, the guy can recruit  lets not mistake that, but John Blake shouldn't be around young men, he doesn't play by the rules, and he totally destroyed Oklahoma when he was there, and he tore up the Dallas Cowboys locker room, when he was an assistant there in Big D. Butch knew all of this, and he still offered this man a job. That's Butch's biggest mistake in my humble opinion. John Blake got Butch fired, as the head coach, Davis should have known what was going on, as a coach did he? maybe maybe not, but....it is what it is.
The very wild part is the timing, players report next week, and the season, the ACC opener is only a month or so away....
I think Butch Davis is finished in College athletics, but he will surely be welcomed back into the NFL, will he be a head coach, not right away, but he will definitely get a job as a coordinator....my guess, in San Diego with old Friend Norv turner, or up in Buffalo once Wannestadt pulls a coup on Chan Gailey....
The Saga Continues....

Bye Bye ROY!

The Boyz have released Roy Williams.....Thank Goodness,
too much salary, not enough production, and he talks it up. Catch The Damn Ball....
Watch Snyder sign him.
They also released Marion "The Barbarian" Barber, a true Monster! Ill miss seeing him run over fools in the NFC East, but hey he had a big cap number, and he has been hurt the last few years.
Good move on Roy, and I saw it coming with The Barbarian....its a new day in Big "D"!

Tha Reallionnaire

Tha Boyz

The Cowboys are scheduled to report to training camp in San Antonio on Wednesday and begin practicing Thursday inside the Alamodome. Im not a big fan of the Alamodome for trainign camp....get em out in the heat, make em sweat, that makes or breaks you now, and it will shoe up in November, December and hopefully through until February!
The NFL Players Association has approved the terms of a deal to end the 4 1/2-month lockout, with the players voting unanimously for the new collective bargaining agreement.
The Cowboys are scheduled to report to San Antonio on Wednesday for physicals, meetings and conditioning. The team's first practice in pads wouldn't come until the weekend, according to the terms of the new CBA.
Equipment trucks, originally scheduled to leave for San Antonio last Friday, have finally left Valley Ranch.
"Teams are going to have a lot on their plates, handling practice, free agency, negotiations, but that's part of the process," Cowboys tight end Jason Witten said. "My perspective is to go into camp, work at your craft and all that will work itself out. You're hopeful that you can get the best team in place."
The NFL announced Monday that teams can go to a 90-man roster, and the official free-agent list was distributed to teams. Trading begins Tuesday, and teams started to reach agreements with undrafted free agents late Monday. At 3 p.m. Thursday, teams can begin to cut players.
The Cowboys need safety help but might not be as active during the free-agent frenzy simply because they're about $18 million over the expected $120 million salary cap. Though NFL teams can borrow a $3 million credit against this year's salary cap, the Cowboys will need to restructure contracts (with Tony Romo DeMarcus Ware and Miles Austin as prime targets) and release players (RB Marion Barber is likely one gone). That will put them in better position to resign their own free agents (LT Doug Free at the top of the list) and be more aggressive in the open market.
In other words, get ready for a chaotic week of rumors and roster moves.
The Cowboys' first preseason game is scheduled for Aug. 11 against Denver at Cowboys Stadium but could be pushed back a few days to give both teams more practices. If the first practice is indeed Thursday that would give the Cowboys at least 15 full days of practices before their first preseason game.

CAMP SET
The Cowboys released their training camp plans Monday following the official end of the 4 1/2-month NFL lockout. Here’s a look at the details:
Location: Alamodome in San Antonio
Report to site: Players arrive Wednesday for meetings and physicals, starting with the rookies in the morning.
First practice: Thursday
Daily practice schedule: Walk-throughs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and contact practices from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. There are no morning walk-through sessions scheduled for Sunday and Aug. 7. The first three practices, according to new league rules, will be without pads.
Return to Dallas: Cowboys break camp Aug. 10.
Preseason opener: Vs. Denver at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at Cowboys Stadium.
After the Denver game: Resume preseason practices Aug. 13 at Cowboys Stadium.

Let The Games Begin

Boys and girls....Let the games begin.
Free Agency is on and poppin', the lockout is over....but before i get to the juicy stuff, here a funny one for you...
John Beck of the Washington Redskins, showed up at Redskins park yesterday, since the lockout was over, expecting to get inside go over a few things with his coordinator Kyle Shannahan (If you call him that, i call him a high-school coordinator) and the security guard at Redskins Park, didn't even know who he was.....
LOL!
Redskins....man, how are they even in the NFC EAST?

No doubt, it’s on for Detox. The Video for I Need A Doctor is out, and to keep it Gangsta…Dre pulled a big one. Went artistic and all, now the big part is he took it waaaaay back. World Class Wrecking Crew, NWA, Eazy E. And Him and Em, kept it classy. He has his family in the video, wife and kids and all, nicely done.
Now some folks are not going to appreciate the song, the beat and all, nah, Dre DID NOT produce this one, Alex Da Kid did it, in fact he did Skylar Grays Album. He's a youngster from the UK, and he's bringing heat, but definitely check the song and the video...
Here's a link for it, now go see what’s up for yourself…

True Capers….

Man, let’s talk about true Capers.
I’m talking about getting paid, but not any gun-play type “gangsterism”, that’s 100% against what I’m all about. I’m speaking bout REAL GANGSTAS. First I want to touch on that cat who pulled the Caper in Vegas at the Bellagio. The dude’s name is Anthony Carleo, and he pulled a sweet Caper! He hit up the Cage at the Bellagio. His take was like 1.5 mill, he walked in, walked out with the chips, the black chips, the $25,000.00 chips, and walked out, hopped on a motorcycle. It sounds like a sweet caper,…but it had some flaws. Hear me out. First thing, he grabbed the wrong chips, hell, he in all reality hit the wrong casino, the Bellagio is just too big, they immediately pulled all of the 25k chips, made them useless, so he then, couldn’t sell them, couldn’t trade them, couldn’t cash in, (he did drop one in a Salvation Army Kettle, during Christmas) which proves he has a good heart. But he went up to Colorado, hung out, gambled up there, and was able to get rid of a few, but the caper was realistically over his head. He got busted last week, after selling one of them to an undercover cop. I respect his ambition though….oh yeah, his dad is a Judge…

Lets talk a little bit more about Gambling Capers, Lets talk about the SuperBowl and put an end to the foolishness once and for all. To be direct and to the point, The SuperBowl CANNOT be fixed. What are you gonna do, get close to one of the players, get a millionanire to fumble, throw a pick, nah, not likely, maybe a crooked ref, but these guys are held to some pretty high standards, and it would be tough to find one willing to cross that margin, but….and don’t take this seriously but I’ve heard fools talking about the way to “fix the SuperBowl” is through the caterers…drug the players meals….dumb idea and impossible. If the players don’t get sick, it’s just impossible.

But lets not forget about Tim Donaghy….this guy ran through the NBA, he got caught up with the Gambinos (ahem) rigging games left and right, FEDS got onto him right away and he was done, dude did 15 months, and left all kind of egg on David Stern and the NBA Executive office!

But the Biggest and Best Caper….Im talking about Arnold Rothstein...was when he fixed the World Series….He got ahold of a few players on the 1919 Chicago White Sox, and those dudes threw the game. He stood up to the grand jury, never got indicted and boom, walked away with his loot!
This became known as the BLACK SOX SCANDAL, and this cat lived in infamy, I mean it was 1919, and he was gunned down later for another Gambling scandal, but just the sheer size and boldness of it, truly impresses.
I tip my hat Mr. Rothstein.

Eye Of The Storm

I'm ranting tonight, because I'm a little hot. I've got to air some family laundry, but it needs to be said. I've got a bone to pick with my man Randy... Coach Randy Shannon. Yeah my man Randy has crossed the margin. Now I know he was dealing with a lot of bs and politics, but hey he was the Head Football Coach at the prestigious University of Miami. "The U" u hear about them every Monday night during football season, every player black or white proudly speak it ... Joe Blow, safety from The U, John Smith, tight end; The U. So we have some history, we've got National Titles and that means rings! And not to mention Dozens of cats in the NFL. So The U is well represented In The league. Now to continue my beef with Randy goes to recruiting, the lifeblood of Big Time College Football.
Now the word around the campfire is that Randy wasn't handling business here in the "Eye of The Storm" Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. After Randy was fired Teddy Bridgewater(17 year old qb from Northwestern de-committed and signed with Louisville... Louisville (WTF?!!!) a Miami cat in Louisville, whatever!@& good luck and much love up there youngster, but my beef is he's the only qb Miami had targeted! Now...drum-roll please.... The only qb's we have are Jacory (my man) and the youngster Steven Morris. Now Morris is turning out to be a true baller! But Teddy would have been nice to have sitting there waiting in the wings. See Randy got caught up n the politics, he had to make sure his kids graduated and I respect the he'll out of that, but UM didn't win a whole lot in the last few years and that's where your bread is buttered in big time college ball. Let's keep it gangsta here for a minute. Randy's boyz DID NOT get into any trouble and high graduation rate was only second to Stanford. That's real right there and I respect those numbers, but we got blown out by sub par teams, played down to our competition and lost Eye of The Storm recruits to inferior schools. Perfect example Miami's Central high, in the past three years has sent 53 kids to school (college) and 38 of those young men to D-1 schools, how many times has Randy been to Central in that time frame? Once and oh by the way, only one of those young men has gone to UM!
Look, we need to bring the "Swagger" back to the U, and history proves, there are three hotbeds of football recruiting, South Florida, Southern California and Down in Texas. We have Championships right here, they just need to be cultivated and coached up. Randy dropped the ball there.
For real, let me ask you, where was Randy sending his coaches out to Recruit? Iowa and Kansas has players but we've got "Ballers"! We need to bring that swagger back and coach Golden is on the right track, last week, he promised he would not be a stranger here in "The Eye Of The Storm", he said if a kid is a baller were not only going after him, were getting him, he'll wear the "U" o. The side of his helmet,
See Randy was running scared Donna Shallala was on his ass to make sure these kids graduated, now that's important but let's also add, sending kids to the NFL and winning Championships. It's do-able.
Coach Golden has been busy in the five weeks since he's take. The job, he mentioned that all of Florida is vitally important and that we've got to get back to the roots, getting strong here in South Florida, here in our backyard. Again recruit heavy here and you win championships. Randy started out doing it (and no knock on Randy) but let's get back to winning get back to rings and sending kids the league...

Luv of My Life

Its gonna be a pretty Hot summer, and I'm talking about Music!
My man DJ Quik appears to be coming strong, I just peeped a leak from "The Book of David" his newest Lp 9th album and he hasn't lost a step. Luv of My Life is laced with the synthesizers and strong drums he's known for. A nice flowing track that you can kick back to and just vibe off of....check it out:

Dr. Dre is right there in the wings with the long awaited Detox. this thing is like 12 years in the making and the single KUSH is fire. I had a few "issues" with Akon being on a classic west coast album, but the truth is it Bangs, we may be missing Nate Dogg on there, but the Good doctor will more than compensate....But he's probably the busies Dude in the Game, he just finished a track for a youngster called Raje', this one is THERAPY and the beat just made me shake my head and say, whoa! Dre doing it!
 here's THERAPY:

The Brother keeps us laced with bangers and that's just mix-tapes, he's one of the true artist who consistently goes platinum, but still dropping free mix-tapes and street singles. THE RED ALBUM is dropping on Interscope and Ive been waiting on that for a few months, but he won't disappoint. again....its gonna be a HOT SUMMER!

No Franchise Tags?...

The Players union is DISPUTING that the franchise tag will be available.
So lets see, the owners won in court last week, they DO get the Television revenue, even if they lock-out that's a total loss for the players,
The players get to keep insurance coverage...COBRA policies
and now Franchise Tags,
Lets face it the owners WILL lock out, and the players WILL cave in pretty quickly...I always thought the owners COULD NOT afford to lock out, but if they get the Television revenue....they will do it, it will bend the players to accept whatever the owners throw to them. 50% of the players cannot afford the lockout, so its only a matter of time, small market teams like Buffalo and Green Bay wouldn't be able to withstand a lockout, but if ESPN is still writing checks, they will somehow make due...

Jerry and Roger

Jerry Jones is trying to sell the World press gathered at his Billion dollar Stadium that the City of Dallas is handling the weather well. I have it on very good authority that the city is NOT handling things well, many zip codes are without power and even a few hospitals have suffered power losses....Cant say the say for Jerry's house. Jerry and his good friend Roger Goodell, have seen to it, that Cowboys stadium is well powered!
would you expect less? The Superbowl at Jerry's stadium, the largest crowd ever for a Superbowl is expected, with his standing spots for only $200 bucks...Wow!!!!!!
